The Struggle Begins
It's a fact that the Smartest Man Ever also happens to be a music elitist. There aren't a lot of things I enjoy more than debating the merits of Morrissey with a friend or tearing apart someone's interest in crappy music when I meet them. There are musical geniuses out there, and there are complete charlatans (pardon the pun). There are genuine artists, and there are cookie-cutter MTV hacks. Everyone has their own opinions about which are which, but mine has the distinction of being the only right one. So read on as we discover who triumphs and who falls flat in the distinguished arena of the Smartest Man Ever's Battle of the Bands!

The Rules Of Combat
Basically, I've pitted what I think are some interesting musicians against each other, chosen either because of an existing rivalry between them or because of their obvious similarities. As they fight for supremacy, they will be discussed and judged based on the quality of the music they produce, their consistency in producing it, their integrity as an artist, and their overall style and appearance. The final scores are tabulated near the bottom of each match's page. If there's a match you'd like to see here or you disagree with the outcome of any of these, email me and we can chat about it.
